This post was originally going to be on how to lie to your parents to go to a party.
But then I thought-
What am I doing?
I was mad at mine because they are the most overprotective I've ever met, and I can't have fun. But thinking it through... I DO have fun! Just not by drinking and all that.
And my parents are not that bad, they let me go if they know the planner.
Yes, I might lie once in a while and get some drinks.
But someday I'll be older and I'll do whatever I want, being alcoholic or a drug addict will be completely up to me. But I don't think I'll be any of those, and that's thanks to my parents.
Who doesn't drink once in a while, that's true.
So these Above the Influence commercials came to my mind, and I thought.
It's true. Everyone is doing all this crazy shit now, and I'm not going to lie, so have I. But why not be... better? Why not have control over yourself? Why let peer pressure get the hold of you?
I know, no one wants to be a... dork, or anything, but you CAN be cool and still have control.
Have your fun, just be careful.
You'll be thankful SOMEDAY, and that's something that I still don't get, since I still try to find ways to sneak out, but I know myself, and I know I can be responsible and still stay the way I am.
Your friends won't leave you if they really ARE your friends,
I admit I don't like this either, everyone wants to hang out with the cool people uh?
But so what, there are ways. I can hang out with the cool people without doing crazy things.
I'm in control.
